How to Enable and Use the Time Card Feature in RazorSync
The Time Card feature allows you to track your technicians' total clocked-in hours during the day and view time spent on specific jobs. This guide will walk you through enabling the feature, clocking in/out on mobile, and viewing time card reports
Initial Setup: Enable the Time Card Feature
- Navigate to Settings in the main menu.
- Click Workflow on the left sidebar.
- Scroll to Workflow Components on the top right side of the screen.
- Toggle on the Time Card Reporting feature.
- Click Save.
How Technicians Clock In and Out (Mobile App)
Clocking In:
- Open the Razor Sync mobile app.
- Tap the Razor Sync button (the circle icon with Razor Sync arrows in the middle).
- Tap Clock In.
- Immediately tap Force Sync to send the clock-in time to the office.
Clocking Out:
- At the end of the day, tap the Razor Sync button again.
- Tap Clock Out.
⚠️ Critical: Always Clock In AND Clock Out
Time card reports will not display status changes (such as on-site, in-route, or job-specific time) unless the technician has both a clock-in punch and a clock-out punch for that day. Think of these as bookends—you need both to see the full picture. Additionally, always Force Sync immediately after clocking in, or the data won't appear in the office system until the next automatic sync.
Viewing Time Card Reports
- Click Reports in the left-side menu bar.
- Scroll down in the Ad Hoc Reports section (past Advanced, Basic, and Financial reports).
- At the very bottom, locate the Time Card section.
- Choose between:
- Simple Time Card Report: Shows only clock-in, clock-out, and total hours for the day.
- Detailed Time Card Report: Shows time spent at specific jobs and during each status (on-site, in-route, etc.).
- Set your desired date range (default is today).
- Click Run Report.
Manually Adding or Editing Time Card Punches (Admin Only)
If a technician forgets to clock in or out, an admin can manually add or edit punches:
- Open the appropriate Time Card report.
- Click Add next to the technician's name.
- Select In or Out from the dropdown.
- Choose the correct time.
- Click Save.
To edit an existing punch, click the Edit button next to the punch and adjust the time as needed.
🔒 Admin Permission Required:
Only users with admin roles can add, edit, or delete time card punches. Standard users cannot modify punches, even their own.
Optional: Allow Technicians to View Their Own Time Cards
- Go to Settings > Workflow.
- Scroll down on the left sidebar to User Abilities.
- Check the box for "User can see their own time card report."
- Click Save.
Technicians can then log into the browser version of Razor Sync to view (but not edit) their own punches.
